Process Life Biblically
Here at JBF we want to see people’s lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. We realize God’s Word is for more than head knowledge. It is to be lived out in a fallen world. We want to see people move from “Denying Christ” to “Discovering Christ” to being “Drawn to Christ” and finally “Dying to self and living for Christ”.
Authentic and Transparent
In order to process life biblically we need to surround ourselves with individuals who will tell us what we need to hear not what we want to hear. We want to develop authentic relationships where we can have courageous conversations and be open and honest with other in our walk with God and our daily struggles. We want to be iron sharpening iron (Proverbs 27:17).
Like Velcro we want to develop relationships that stick together. In daily life if you have two or three really good friends you can count and who can speak into your life you are in a good spot. Our desire is to see our church members develop “fox hole buddies”, individuals they can depend on in the daily battles of a fallen world.
Impact Our Community
We want to grow deeper in our walk with God. We want to grow deeper in our spiritual relationships. But we do not want to be isolated. Our desire is to work for the betterment of Jesup. Our desire is to be salt and light in our community (Jeremiah 29:7).
How do we develop authentic and transparent relationships? How do we impact our community? Our desire is not to “do church” or “have programs” but instead make sure that our ministries are intentional, focused and glorifying to God (Proverbs 21:31).
God Gets the Glory
While this may be at the bottom of our list it is at the top of our minds. Everything we do, from the way we process life, to the way we do church, to the way we impact our community and neighbors is done for God’s glory.
